Chapters 3 and 4 today.  Going to have to make up the day we missed due to the hurricane.  Current Event Summary 1 due next week.  Professor is a little bit flustered today.  Apparently doesn’t have power back at her house yet, so she’s living elsewhere.Ethics today.

Ethical standards vary by country, as you’d expect.

Some discussion of counterfeiting and piracy.  This is a big deal, particularly with China.  Chinese companies will duplicate the products of other countries, right down to the packaging.  Not just high-margin products, but minimal profit products like Kiwi shoe polish.  They make money by not having advertising costs, essentially; parasiting off the main company’s efforts.  This is huge in Africa, moreso than in the U.S.A.
