Slightly late to class.  Mostly recap of the previous class so far.  This is the last in-class meeting for a while. The main purpose of an HR information system is to keep accurate, complete, updated databases and to automate tasks such as application tracking, report generation, and record keeping.

HR covers people, jobs, and positions.  A good HR management system deals with all three of those areas.  This expands beyond simply tracking who is employed to tracking benefits, generating payrolls, dealing with training and development, and so forth.
