Quantitative methods, January 14 2008

First day of class
Professor is Dr. Zalila.

Course is focused on effective decision making based on the scientific method. Inventory and production models, forecasting models, project management, and so forth.

Web-enhanced course, meaning some class meetings will be replaced with online content. More than two class periods will be replaced with online content.

Periodically there will be quizzes, which will take place on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 10:00, via WebCT.

Cases from the textbook will be assigned. Cases will be group assignments. Probably three cases over the semester.

Threaded discussion posts; we’ll have to post to a threaded forum board, essentially. Minimum two postings per topic, with one post being new information and the other being either a new post or a reply to another student.

There will be two tests, and a comprehensive final exam.

Some scheduling problems over next week being MLK day. It is sort of odd for the second day of a class to be canceled.
